External Hemorrhoids

External Hemorrhoids: Overview
External hemorrhoids are swollen veins located around the anus, often caused by straining during bowel movements, prolonged sitting, or chronic constipation.

Symptoms
They can cause pain, itching, swelling, and sometimes bleeding. In some cases, a hard lump may form due to clotting (thrombosed hemorrhoid).

Treatment
Treatment options include topical ointments, sitz baths, lifestyle changes, and in more severe cases, surgical removal. A consultation with a proctologist is recommended.
